Railway Station

Benešov railway station is included in the list of cultural monuments in the Czech Republic. It is tone of the most beautiful railway stations in the Czech Republic. It was build in 1871 and its biggest pride is the Emperor’s salon, which served as a luxury waiting room in the time of the successor to the Austro-Hungarian throne Franz Ferdinand d'Este, the owner of Konopiště Castle. The most famous guests were Franz Josef I and German emperor Vilhelm II., who was here only two weeks before d’Este’s assassination in Sarajevo.
