Masaryk Square - Information Centre

In the centre of Benešov is Masaryk Square, dominated by the baroque church of St. Anne and the former Piarist college. Opposite the church is the city hall, dating from the 17th century. The building was originally used as a shop and a pub. Since 1867 it has belonged to the city and the city hall was established here. In 1995 the building was rebuilt and redesigned by Prague architect Josef Pleskot. The reconstruction won the "Grand Prix" prize for architecture in 1995. You can find information about Benešov and Konopiště in the newly renovated Culture and Information Centre in house number 230.
